Playing in makeup and Tests I should be studying for!

Hello, all!  Tomorrow I have a DE test, so what am I doing? Not studying... Okay, I promise I'll get it done, I'm just... doing other things right now. Ha!

So, it's been a hella crazy week.  Had a test Tuesday, that I didn't know about and... well, I definitely didn't pass. :/  And then, I have a test tomorrow that I found out I had on Tuesday (I really should start writing this stuff down), so I really hope I do a lot better on that... Eh...

Anyway, I decided I was bored of studying and decided to take a break and play in my makeup.  So much fun!  I don't know about anyone else, but everyone else thinks it's weird that I just randomly play in my makeup.  My fiancĂ© asks, "Why are you putting on your makeup if you're not going out?" I guess it's a girl thing... Well, I hope on not the only one... :P

Anyway, I have small, beady eyes.  I get my lovely eyes from my father, but that's okay, I just like to use makeup up to enlarge them. :)

Amazing what just a bit of black and white eyeliner in the right places can do.

And, I guess just to show you what I usually do on my lid.  Something basic and neutral, normally.  Not too exciting...

And from far away, you can tell my eyes really pop and look so much larger (I should have taken a before photo to show the difference because my eyes now just look normal eyes size.  Ha!)

Well, loves, I think that's it for now.  If anyone would like a bit more detail on exactly what I do to achieve big, dolly eyes, please let me know and I'd love to either explain that here or put up a vid on YouTube.  I guess it's back to studying for me... :(

L'Oreal True Match vs. L'Oreal True Match Lumi Review

Hello all!  So, I recently purchased the new (I'm assuming it's new.  I hadn't heard of it before I saw it in Wal-Mart the other day... It says it's new on a little sticker on the bottle...) L'Oreal True Match Lumi liquid foundation.  What really drew me to it was the fact that it had a pump!  Yay!  Sadly, the original L'Oreal True Match is a bottle you pour and it just gets messy.  Anyway, I LOVE L'Oreal True Match. It's my favorite drugstore foundation and, in my opinion, probably the best drugstore foundation out there.  Anyway, I'll stop rambling on and we'll get to the review:

First, I'll start with True Match:

True Match has been around for a while (honestly don't know how long) and I've been using it for almost three years now.

Here is what I LOVE about it:

-Good coverage (about medium coverage for those of you who don't know what I define "good coverage" as)

-Sun screen built in (has an SPF 17... not great, but better than nothing)

-Very lasting and even more lasting if I use a primer underneath (which I find myself doing a lot in the summer when I'm sweating a lot in my car with no AC D:)

-Best match to my skin tone (I guess that's kind of a given.  I love how not only they have the basic light, medium, dark shades and lost in between, but also shades that match the  warmness or coolness of your skin tone)

What I HATE about this product:

-The bottle! (This may not bother other people, but I hate the pour out bottle.  I feel like it just makes a mess and when you're at the end of the bottle you have to wait a while before anything starts to come out)

-Has a weird sort of painty smell.  (This actually kind of turned me off to it at first... If you know me I'm big on stuff smelling good.  If it doesn't, I probably won't use it.  But once I tried it out and it was amazing on my skin, I decided I could put up with the smell.)

And that pretty much covers the original True Match.  Overall, for a drugstore product, I think it's amazing.  I feel like I'm getting high end quality for ~$9, which may be expensive for some, but I think it's more than worth it.  Moving on to...

True Match Lumi:

What I LOVE:

-It has a pump!  Yay!  Makes life so much easier!

-Sun screen... but this time it's a bit higher SPF.  SPF 20.  This time they put in Octinoxate for sun protection as opposed to... I don't even know what they use in the other kind, the letters are so hard to read on the bottle. Ha!

-Again very good match to my skin tone. (However, I did notice they kind of threw the n1 and n2 together in one bottle.  I was worried, it would be too light for me, but it matches it very nicely.)

-It doesn't have the bad smell! (I can't really describe the smell... It's not as strong and a bit sweet is the best I can do, but it's so much better.  This is like smelling a meadow of flowers compared to the other stuff.)

-For lasting ability, so far it's been great!  (But I have only worn it out for a couple of times.  Haven't really put it to the test yet.)

What I HATE:

-I feel like it's lost some of it's coverage.  (It could just be me.  While it still has a decent coverage and I still love it, I think the original True Match has the best coverage.  I think maybe with the added sun protection, you lose some of that coverage. It's not that big of a deal to me, but if you're all about coverage and don't mind the weird smell and the lack of pump, I would stick with the original if I were you.)

Overall, I LOVE the new True Match Lumi and will probably stick with this one for the next while.  It does cost a little more... I got it at Wal-Mart for $10.97, but I think it's still worth it for a couple bucks more.

Well, that pretty much concludes it.  They're both great foundations and I'd recommend them to anyone.  You won't have any trouble finding one that matches your skin.  I promise.

There's a Galaxy in my Room!

My love for Astronomy

+

My love for Art

=

If your don't recognize that nice spiral galaxy right there, that is M31 (a.k.a. The Andromeda Galaxy).  Painting is definitely not my area of expertise, but I don't let that stop me from mixing up some colors and having a try!  It shouldn't stop anyone from trying something they've never done before or aren't that skilled at.  If you enjoy it or think you might, then DO IT, because it's worth the fun! :D

So, there are obvious flaws with this painting.  One that really annoys me is that M110 (the galaxy below M31) just seems a bit off.  I feel like it needs to be nudged a little to the right.  And of course, there are other things here and there I wished I could have executed a bit better.  Oh, well.  Maybe I'll improve with more practice.  I have been painting a lot more lately.  I've been pretty stressed out, and it really helps me relax and take my mind off of my worries.  And sometimes, it takes me to other galaxies. ;)

I love how I can incorporate two things that I love into one!  It makes it TWO times more enjoyable!  Ha!  I wonder if there's a way I could incorporate exercise with something fun that I love to do... I'll have to work on that one.

Well, I guess that's it for now.  If anyone happens to stumble upon this post, what are two things you love that you like to combine and how do you go about it?  Am I right about it being twice as fun?

TTYL!

It's the most Creative Time of Year!

It's getting closer to autumn!  You know what that means: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and then Christmas shopping right after.  It's my favorite time of year because it's the time of year to be creative!

First, you have halloween.  You've got to make costumes, do your hair and makeup, decorate, parties to go to or plan.  It's one creative holiday!

Then, you have Thanksgiving.  It may not be as creative with costumes or decorations, but it is with food!  It's time to cook and bake and be with family.  You can get together and try new recipes for Thanksgiving dinner, and if they don't work out, oh well. You still got to spend some quality time with your family cooking and baking... and you'll know what not to do next year.

And then right after Thanksgiving, it's time to go on the hunt for Christmas gifts.  D:  I like to make Christmas gifts. :)  It's cheaper, more fun, and more personal. Also, you don't have to worry about fighting the crowds in stores.  But, if crafts aren't your thing, it still helps to have a little creativity to pick out gifts for certain people.  There are some people that are impossible to shop for!

Anyway, I'm excited about the upcoming holidays and can't wait to get started costumes, decorations, gifts, whatever.  And I hope to share some of my creations with you all and if you'd like to share some of yours with me, I'd love to see it!

Duckies! :D

I've had this video on my iPhone for a few weeks.  The ducks next door decided to pay us a visit.  They're so cute!  ^_^
