New Video in the Works!

Hey guys!

Well, I just got finished painting, hot gluing and bending metal and when I get back from class this evening, I'll work on editing the video I made of it and get it up probably sometime tonight.  What was I doing exactly? Well...

I made a video on how I make my jewelry trees!

This one is a little different because made it with a box instead of a basket.  I, personally, prefer the basket, and I was going to show how to do a basket one, but I couldn't find those baskets at Hobby Lobby anymore.  Either way, you can take the same idea of how to make the one in a box and apply it to making one in a basket.

Well, I'm going to go get some dinner before I head off to class tonight!

Back home... :(

Isn't it just depressing when you get back from a fun vacation/holiday?  And then it's back to the usual routine.  I had such a blast visiting my fiancé and his relatives!  I was spoiled so much by my future mother-in-law!  She's the sweetest person I know!

So what all did I do on my stay?

Tuesday: I arrived sometime after 9pm and was tired, so we really didn't do anything that day.  Ha!

Wednesday: My fiancé's mother took me for a nice, luxurious pedicure at this really snazzy spa.  Then she took me to this really cute tea room downtown for tea where we met up with my fiancé and ate at another restaurant.  Later that afternoon, my fiancé and I played bocce with his stepdad. I think it's such a fun game!

Thursday: Thanksgiving Day!  We went for a walk on some trails in the morning, then I helped cook (some, I wish I could have done more), then we had an amazing dinner!  Afterwards, it was time for the ultimate bocce showdown against my fiancé's brother-in-law. Ha!  That was great fun.  I lost, of course.

Friday: My fiancé, his sister and his mom did early morning Black Friday shopping.  I slept in, then we went to yoga at this cute little studio downtown. I'd never been to a yoga class before (I have attempted it on my own before) and I absolutely loved it!  It was very calming and is a good workout for your body after Thanksgiving dinner! Then, we shopped around a bit and didn't do much for the rest of the evening.

Saturday: More shopping! Ha ha! Of course! Went to Ulta, Marshall's, Tuesday Mornings and then Publix to pick up a few groceries.  I had to pack... :(

Today: I left at 7am this morning.  It's nice to be home and see my cats and dad and brother, but I really hate leaving my fiancé and his family who are so wonderful to me!

Well, that's it for now, I need to start working on schoolwork pronto! I didn't get any done over the break... I'm such a procrastinator and finals are NEXT WEEK!!!  AHH!  Wish me luck!  Don't expect to see or hear of too much of me in the meantime!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The beautiful "tablescape" set up the night before.

Me making mashed potatoes!

The turkey... even though I'm vegetarian, it just seemed appropriate to add.

Me playing Godzilla or King Kong or something with my niece's dollhouse...
I'm such a kid.

I had an amazing Thanksgiving!  We cooked, ate, played bocce, and of course I had some über amazing homemade pumpkin pie with homemade whipped cream! ^_^ I'm so full!  It's been great!  I hope everyone else has had an amazing Thanksgiving spending time with their family and enjoying great food!  Good luck to you crazy Black Friday shoppers out there!  I don't know about you, but I'm sleeping in and then I'm going to yoga.

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?

A Thanksgiving gift basket for my fiancé's Mom

I am!!!  My car is all packed and ready to go.  Just have to wait until my last class of the day ends, which is at 4:20!  Then I have a five hour drive ahead of me.

I'm so excited!  Not about the drive, but about seeing my fiancé and spending time with him and his family.  It will be such a blast!  Hopefully, it will help take my mind of my mom.  They say holidays are really the times you miss your deceased loved ones the most.  I've already been kind of feeling that, but I get to spend it with a great family who have been more than generous and more like a real family to me for the past few years that I've known them.

Just FYI, I re-uploaded my Inexpensive DIY Gift Ideas video on YouTube because I felt like I was way too long-winded in the original version.  I cut down the time by about three minutes and just kept the important stuff in there, so I hope it's much better to watch.  I've also uploaded a video on makeup for blue eyes, so definitely go check that out if you have blue eyes, if not, it's still a great everyday makeup look for any eye color, so go check it out anyway!

Well, that's it for now.  I think I'm going to work on my Planetary Geology Paper until my next class.  I don't know if I'll be back on here before Thanksgiving, so I wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving!  Until next time...

Staring at the Sun...

Hello, lovelies!

I'm back on my blog once again typing about random happenings in my life.

Today, I decided to take my telescope and do some solar observations.  Here's one of the photos I took:

If you squint, you can see a bit of a little cluster of sunspots just down from the center and you may be able to spot some of the other larger ones.  I used my Sony PowerShot to take these images.  All I did was hold the camera up to the eyepiece.  For this image, I used my 20 mm eyepiece in my 8" Equatorial Reflector Telescope with a solar filter of course!!! NEVER EVER EVER look at the sun with a telescope without a solar filter!  The filter blocks out 99.99% of the light, so you can see the sun and not go blind!  So if you ever want to do some solar observing, please purchase a solar filter first.  They are not too expensive (I mean for someone who has bought telescope, because those aren't cheap!).

Aside from that, I've been a busy little worker bee this weekend, cleaning, doing laundry, and working on the loads of schoolwork I have.  Finals are in a little over TWO WEEKS!!!  I'm starting to feel the pressure.  Anyway, I better get back to my studies...

Killing Time...

Greetings from my campus' library!  That's right.  I'm blogging when I probably should be studying or doing homework or something.  Don't worry.  I've got a good 2.5 hours to kill before lab so I'll have plenty of time to work on that other stuff.

Anyway, yesterday, I thought I'd do the I <3 Drugstore Tag, and I filmed it, but I didn't really like the way it turned out, so I don't know that I'll be uploading that one.  Also, I hate to say this, but since I'm getting closer to finals, I probably won't be making many videos between now and the end of finals, but I'll try to make some here and there if I can.

And here is what I'm wearing today:

I took this pic in my bathroom before I left.
(I can definitely see my mom in me in this pic even though I look more like my father)

Maybe I'll do an OOTD video later tonight when I get back home.  I really like what I'm wearing today.  Sorry, that you don't see much of it in the photo.  I'm wearing a sheer, peach ruffle top over a white cami and I just paired that with some jeans and added a few accessories here and there.

Well, I guess I better start on some school work.

New Vid!

It was an instructional video that kind of wound up being more silly than anything, but it features my lovely fiancé!  Here's the video if you want have a look:

Funny how the still looks like I'm doing some sort of science experiment...
Well, it was an experiment of sorts.

Unfortunately, my fiancé will be leaving tomorrow morning. :( We've had a great several days together and I'll be seeing him soon when I go up there for Thanksgiving next week. :D  And maybe I'll have him in a video every now and then when he's around.  He's so silly.  I think he makes my videos more entertaining.

Anyway, I'm happy that he agreed to participate in a video while I "tortured" him.  I've got a lot more videos to come, so if you follow me on YouTube, stay tuned and if not, you should go check out my channel.  The link should be somewhere to the right of this post.

That's it for now!

Just an '80's kind of day!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

And this is why it's an '80's sort of day: curly, frizzy hair and slouchy tee.

To achieve this look, all I did was dampen my hair, put some mousse in it and french braided two pigtails then slept on them.  I took them out this morning and ran my fingers through my hair and this is what happened... Ahh!

As for the shirt, I cut up a too big T-shirt I got at Hobby Lobby and then cut strips out of old shirts I had and made them into bows then sewed them onto the shirt.  Very simple DIY fashion! :D

And, my day has just begun.  It's still morning.  I'm waiting on my fiancé to get ready.  He's going to take me out for lunch right after we stop by Sally's Beauty Supply to pick a few things.  He wants me to highlight his hair again.  It's been a while since I last did it.  Maybe I'll talk him into letting me put the whole process up on YouTube?  That would be fun.  It's such an easy thing to do, for those who are curious about highlighting your own hair.

And, later tonight we plan on having a "star party".  I'll be taking my telescope out tonight if it's nice and clear.  My dad's girlfriend is really excited about me showing her planets and deep sky objects, so that will be a lot of fun.  It reminds of when I was a telescope operator at my previous university.  I loved showing students breath-taking objects and teaching them about astronomy.  I suppose I chose the right major.  LOL.

Anyway, I hope everyone else has a great Sunday as well!

What I've been up to/Thanksgiving coming up! :D

It's been a great past few days since my fiancé's been in town.  It's nice to get to spend time with him.  I hate doing the long distance thing... It's very difficult and I don't recommend it.  But, we're sticking it out, because we both really love each other and both really want to finish up out education.

So, I've been hanging out with him, and another friend that he needed to catch up with playing rock band, doing physics homework and having a beer around a fire on a nice, clear night.  And since I've been spending time with my fiancé, that usually means I'm not really being productive in any of the other areas of my life.  It's all worth it though, but I promise I'll get back to working on videos again soon.  I have so much to share! :D

Also, I only have a few weeks of school left!!!  What?!  Yeah, it's about to be crunch time.  I'm getting a little nervous, but I know I'll get everything done.  I always over stress for nothing...

And then there is Thanksgiving!!! I'm so excited about Thanksgiving, but I feel as though it is so overlooked!  I see Christmas stuff everywhere now!  They're already playing Christmas music at the mall and have it decorated in Christmas decorations.  I've seen countless Christmas-related advertisements on the television.  What happened to Thanksgiving? Good grief!  Thanksgiving is still a great holiday that really shouldn't be overlooked.  It's great time to spend with your family, making memories, enjoying great food, and yet, I've not seen a single advertisement to do with Thanksgiving.  And it seems like Thanksgiving isn't even about Thanksgiving anymore!  Black Friday has started to spill over into Thanksgiving.  Opening stores Thanksgiving night to buy presents for... Christmas, of course.  Not that I have anything against Christmas.  I don't know.  This country has just become so materialistic.  Holidays weren't originally about stuff and getting stuff, but that's what it's turned into.  To me, holidays are special times to spend with your close friends and family, to make memories and family traditions, to just take a break from your busy life and spend time with ones you love and enjoy a meal together, because you'd be surprised how often families don't really sit down for a meal together anymore.  Sorry, for the rant...

Anyway, Thanksgiving, though enormously overlooked, is one of my favorite holidays.  I can't wait to spend it with my fiancé's family again this year.  We always have such a good time.  I hope anyone who stumbles up on this, also doesn't overlook Thanksgiving, or really just any time special time to spend time with the ones you love just to do it.  It's a lot of fun and a lot of special memories you will have to look back on later when your grand-parents are gone or your parents are gone or aunts and uncles.

Well, that's it for now!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

New Vid/My Boring Life

Hello, once again!

What have I been doing?  Well, I've actually been quite productive over the past few days.  I don't know what has gotten into me.  Plus, I've already started working on Christmas gifts!  I'll be sure to share some of my creations on here.  I promise!

Today, after class this morning, I decided to stop by Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Goodwill and pick up a few things.  I won't go into too much detail since I posted a haul video on YouTube that you can watch here:

I'm actually excited that I've started putting up videos on YouTube again.  Yes, I know I don't have that many viewers/subscribers, but it's not about that for me, it's something that I enjoy doing.  Plus, I have a lot of ideas that I want to share in the future... I just have to get around to filming it.  Also, I want to get an HD camera so that my videos are better quality and more pleasant to watch.  LOL.

So, yeah, my head is full of ideas for videos for YouTube ranging from crafts to beauty and DIY.  And if anyone out there has any questions or requests for me or just any kind of feedback, I'd just love it, and I'd try my best to answer their questions or fulfill their request or improve somehow.  Anyway, I guess I just need to get more videos out there first.

Well, I guess that it's for now.  I'm getting a tad sleepy... not used to the time change yet, plus, I have a lot to get done tomorrow and I also have to go vote.
