What I've been up to/Thanksgiving coming up! :D
It's been a great past few days since my fiancé's been in town. It's nice to get to spend time with him. I hate doing the long distance thing... It's very difficult and I don't recommend it. But, we're sticking it out, because we both really love each other and both really want to finish up out education.
So, I've been hanging out with him, and another friend that he needed to catch up with playing rock band, doing physics homework and having a beer around a fire on a nice, clear night. And since I've been spending time with my fiancé, that usually means I'm not really being productive in any of the other areas of my life. It's all worth it though, but I promise I'll get back to working on videos again soon. I have so much to share! :D
Also, I only have a few weeks of school left!!! What?! Yeah, it's about to be crunch time. I'm getting a little nervous, but I know I'll get everything done. I always over stress for nothing...
And then there is Thanksgiving!!! I'm so excited about Thanksgiving, but I feel as though it is so overlooked! I see Christmas stuff everywhere now! They're already playing Christmas music at the mall and have it decorated in Christmas decorations. I've seen countless Christmas-related advertisements on the television. What happened to Thanksgiving? Good grief! Thanksgiving is still a great holiday that really shouldn't be overlooked. It's great time to spend with your family, making memories, enjoying great food, and yet, I've not seen a single advertisement to do with Thanksgiving. And it seems like Thanksgiving isn't even about Thanksgiving anymore! Black Friday has started to spill over into Thanksgiving. Opening stores Thanksgiving night to buy presents for... Christmas, of course. Not that I have anything against Christmas. I don't know. This country has just become so materialistic. Holidays weren't originally about stuff and getting stuff, but that's what it's turned into. To me, holidays are special times to spend with your close friends and family, to make memories and family traditions, to just take a break from your busy life and spend time with ones you love and enjoy a meal together, because you'd be surprised how often families don't really sit down for a meal together anymore. Sorry, for the rant...
Anyway, Thanksgiving, though enormously overlooked, is one of my favorite holidays. I can't wait to spend it with my fiancé's family again this year. We always have such a good time. I hope anyone who stumbles up on this, also doesn't overlook Thanksgiving, or really just any time special time to spend time with the ones you love just to do it. It's a lot of fun and a lot of special memories you will have to look back on later when your grand-parents are gone or your parents are gone or aunts and uncles.
Well, that's it for now! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Later!
